LOUIS NICOLAUS
Sacramento, April 14, Louis NICOLAUS, one of Sacramento's oldest citizens and a wealthy retired brewer, is believed to be on his deathbed. NICOLAUS fell down a flight of stairs at his home, 1904 J street, last Friday evening and suffered a broken leg, the injury being at the right thigh owing to the advanced age of NICOLAUS it is though that he can not recover.Sac Bee Wed 6 May 1903

SCHOOLBOY FINDS BODY OF LABORER
Aged German Found in Search for Stolen Wheel.
  The body of Earnest A. HARMS, an elderly German laborer, was found in an old shed in an alley behind the Perry seminary on I street, between Tenth and Eleventh, by Harold WINTERS, 2422 Q street, a pupil of the school who was looking for a stolen bicycle yesterday afternoon.
  HARMS had apparently made his home in the shed, as his blankets and a few clothes were found beside his body. He had been dead for several days, in the opinion of Coroner GORMLEY's assistants, who were immediately notified.
  The dead man was about 60 years of age, and had apparently died from natural causes. The body was taken to the morgue.

BODY OF LABORER TO SWELL CENSUS
Alive April 15 - Supervisor's Duty Plain.
  Determines to make use of every possible name to swell the total average of the city's population, the census supervisor last night handed down the decision that Ernest A. HARMS, the aged German laborer whose body was found in a shed in an alley behind the Perry seminary by Harold WINTERS, one of the pupils of the manual training school, last Tuesday is eligible to be included in Sacramento's count. As it was considered certain that HARMS was alive on the 15th of the month, and all living residents of the city on that day were ordered counted, the duty of the supervisor is plain.

NICOLAUS LEFT FAMILY WEALTH
The will of the late Louis J. NICOLAUS was filed for probate today in the Superior Court by Francis Nicolaus, executrix of the estate.
The Property bequeathed in the will to the widow and three children - Edna, Gladys, Vera - consists of real estate in the city and county of Sacramento, personal property and stock in several banking interests, valued at $94,825.
To the widow was left half of the estate, with the use of the remainder until the children become of age.

  Mrs. Ann HARMS, one of Sacramento county's older residents who died Saturday afternoon was buried yesterday in the family plot at the city cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. C. F. OEHLER at the parlors of Miller & Skelton.
  Mrs. HARMS had been making her home at 4615 Thirty-sixth street, Oak Park. Previous to that she and her husband lived for many years on the Chickering ranch. She has two nieces living here, Mrs. John G. MILLER and Mrs. George WISSEMANN. The pallbearers were A. LINDEMEYER, F. L. SPENCER, M. KAYSER, E. A. PALM, J. T. MEFFORD and F. E. MILLARD.

STEINMILLER FUNERAL TODAY
  The funeral of Louis STEINMILLER, who died in the Southern Pacific hospital on Sunday from apoplexy, will be held today. Steinmiller was 66 years old and had been a resident of Sacramento the greater part of his life. Prior to his death he was employed at the Southern Pacific shops as a moulder. He was born in a prairie schooner while his parents were enroute to California from the East.
